GLP-1 medications such as Ozempic®, Wegovy®, and Mounjaro® are changing the conversations dental hygienists have with patients. As use continues to grow, clinicians are seeing oral health concerns such as xerostomia, dental erosion, nausea, vomiting, reflux, and nutrition-related changes. In this session, dental hygienists will explore how these medications may impact oral health and how to guide patients with practical, evidence-informed prevention strategies. Participants will leave with patient-centered communication tools that support education without fear, shame, or judgment.
